The parade of food started with the green mango with shrimp paste (bagoong), much to the great delight of Jessalyn, our pretty preggy companion. :-)
This was accompanied by crispy liempo with various condiments on the side:
vinegar, soy sauce and chili sauce...

And the appetizer was rounded off with this Thai green mango salad...
which was typically sour green mango with that peanut-y twist and Thai-distinctly sauce.

the "binukadkad na tilapia" ("butterflied" tilapia), which was really a good eat
--- to the fish's bones! [Sarap to the bones!]...

Again, I wouldn't know how it tasted like, as I don't eat pork.
Other food (not pictured) were tom yam goong soup and baked mussels.
The night wore on with lots of conversations, laughter and teasing...
We also received word around this time that Em's (far left) appointment has officially been approved by the UPLB's APB.
So, welcome aboard, Em! May you enjoy teaching as we do!
Oh, did I mention? It was also Deo's birthday; seen here with his son, Nathan (who is now in 1st year college -taking up DVM course, thus is our future student!).
And of course, the ever-present Mernel's chocolate cake. Good thing that the restaurant did not ask for "corkage" fee for the bottles of wine and the cake we brought in and consumed there.
