Getting into the social network, Facebook, since early 2008 has changed the information I get from the internet. Now, the information is not just broad and immense, but has become personalized.
So much so that there are so many "nice to know" things and goings-on in other people's lives (mostly friends and acquaintances) that my community has gone completely changed and different.
It used to be that to know about these things and events in other people's lives, one will write either a letter to be dropped off at the post office or write an email for a faster reply. However, not all the people you are friends with, much less acquainted with, would be that close to me that I would be comfortable asking them such type(s) of question/s.
Sure, there were blogs, but not all do this. Nor is it easy to update it with a one-liner status or post a picture.
It is just so much easier on that networking.
